Our Progress

All the utilities have been installed, and the barn shell is completed. After a very challenging move of our belongings and having to take the winter off because it was too cold to work, we have now completed all the interior framing, finished the electrical, plumbing and insulation.  We should be ready to start sheetrocking soon.

We purchase 42 acres in
Colville, WA

It was love at first sight.

Grading the barn site & access road

Moved a LOT of dirt during site grading.  Also knocked down some good sized Ponderosa pines, which we plan to have milled for future use in construction.  The existing road was improved to allow access for the large concrete and delivery trucks to come.

Installing power

After grading the building site and having a power pedestal & transformer installed, the power was run across our meadow.

Rolo & Good Neighbor Bob:
"We couldn't have made it without him!!!"

The hardest move in our lives & we've moved a lot! Our neighbor Bob pulled the 28' trailer for us (with our kitty in the backseat), but we overloaded it & had three blowouts in the first 150 miles! Ended up in Central WA renting a UHaul to transfer part of our load. It took 14 hrs but should have only taken 5.5 .....thanks to God & Bob we all made it safe & sound. That's why we've always called him Good Neighbor Bob - we couldn't have made it without him!!!

Drilling for water with well experts Jon & Justin Ricard

Our well is 240' deep - an "artesian well", which only comprises 2% of total wells in Washington state.  That basically means the water is naturally and constantly pushed to the surface from a natural spring in the earth.

UPDATE 7/14:  Turns out we need a filter - more to come on on that soon!

Installing the septic system

Septic tank is 1000 GA, and has 2 - 100' drain fields
